I took my 1st exam today. Out of 700 points needed, I received a 838. I am so excited. It was definitively harder than I expected. Just because I never really knew if the task was complete or not. I've grown accustomed to being pampered with a parade of task complete windows that pop up immediately after a correct combination is inserted. The weight that is lifted off of my mental shoulders is so immense, that I am actually levitating in my living room as I am typing. Thanks to all who believed in me.
Cloud Storage 2.3.7
Cloud storage is probably on of the fastest ways to save data today. Not having to have a flash drive or an external hard drive in your back pocket, is definitely easier and much more convenient. It's things like convenience that really make items appealing to consumers. Being able to save documents and files to a "cloud" and save space on my computer is absolutely the greatest thing ever.
Customization Facts 3.2.3
Being able to customize windows is probably my favorite feature. Being able to personalize the tool bars is a tool that makes creating and editing documents so much easier. The split window option allows me the ability to look over multiple sections of my work without having to continuously scroll up and down. Another great tool offered by word is the view tab. Being able to view my document in different ways such as reader view, really allows me to focus on how my document is laid out and how they will be viewed.
Indentation and Tabs 4.4.2
Indenting as well as tab spacing done correctly will leave any document with a more distinguished and professional look. Not only does indentation allow one to clearly see where a paragraph ends, it is essential when writing MLA style papers. This feature has a feature that works wonderfully with information that needs to be cited. It's called the "Hanging Indent".
This section was so interesting to me. I love seeing how things work, and how they rely on other things functioning properly, to maintain their own proper function. The 8 bits equaling a byte was amazing because I knew of the words but didn't really understand what they actually were. Then to find out that Bits and Bytes correlate with the display and how detailed the screen can be.
I'm sure we've all heard the saying, "there is more than one way to skin a cat". That may be true, but not when that proverbial cat is IS101. In this class the tools required are dedication, focus, persistence, and drive. I can definitely affirm that for me, if one of these tools like attributes aren't with me, I'm screwed. I don't mind admitting that I've been able to skip through most of my life, not having to give my all at too much. Thanks to IS101, my nonchalant skipping has been transformed into an all-out sprint. I'm out of my comfort zone, and that's ok, because I know I'm growing. Not only in CPU skills, but in my personal life as well.
Proof one may be getting old. I must have used the original way, first created to open an E-mail account. I mean, I did not believe that could even be done. Now I'm sitting here with the deep understanding that had I taken more time to focus and ensure my understanding and comprehension of the assignment, I would not be here blessing you with these old man's confession.
